Hi-tech? Forget it. PCs are the Model T Fords of their generation

One of the most common misconceptions about the computer industry is that it is 'hi-tech', that is to say, technically advanced. This is utter baloney. Some of its products may be reasonably sophisticated but the industry, per se, is still in a primitive state of development.
