Linux too bloated for $100 Laptop

The One Laptop Per Child organization will use Linux on its inexpensive machines, but apparently the OS suffers the same code bloat as Windows, the project's leader said Tuesday.


Depends on what kind of bloat you say Linux has...in a sense it does have some of that, out of the box, but this largely depends on the system, from my exprences there is little bloat in the Linux kernel, and works good with a decent speced machine, and evren ok with an older machine.
